Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

SpiritTrace: EVP Recorder is provided by 617SW, LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”). This policy explains how the app handles recordings, journal entries, locations, subscriptions, and advertising measurement.

2. Recordings and journal

Your microphone recordings, bookmarks, recording titles, notes, journal entries, saved audio versions, and saved places are stored in the app's storage on your device. Audio processing, including waveform and spectrogram analysis, playback adjustments, filtering, and trimming, happens on your device. We do not upload this content to our servers, RevenueCat, TikTok, or other advertising services.

The app requests microphone permission when you choose to record. You can refuse or later change that permission in iOS Settings. Microphone permission is needed to make new microphone recordings; you can still use features that do not need it.

When you use Share, iOS sends the selected file to the app, person, or destination you choose. That destination's privacy practices apply to the copy it receives. Deleting an item in SpiritTrace does not delete copies you have already exported or shared.

The app maintains local recovery information to protect against interrupted saves. It does not provide a developer-operated cloud backup or synchronization service. Your device's backup or transfer settings may include app data; Apple or your chosen backup provider handles those copies. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription or erase a separately retained backup.

3. Optional locations and Apple Maps

Adding a place to a journal entry is optional. Use Current Location asks iOS for permission and requests a location fix when you choose that action. The saved coordinate can be precise, depending on your iOS permission choice. SpiritTrace does not continuously track your location or request background location access. You can enter a place name without granting location permission.

Apple Maps provides map imagery and place search. Map use can send Apple the area being displayed, search text, and technical request information. Viewing a map centered on a saved place can reveal that area to Apple's map service, even though your journal entry itself stays local. We do not send saved locations or map searches to RevenueCat or TikTok. Apple's handling of its map service is described in Apple Maps & Privacy.

4. Subscriptions and purchase information

When subscription services are available, Apple processes purchases through the App Store. We do not receive your payment-card number or bank details.

RevenueCat processes purchase history, transaction/receipt information, subscription status, an app-specific customer identifier, a device identifier assigned by Apple to this vendor, your current tracking-permission status, and technical app/device request information. This information supports purchase validation, restoring access, fraud prevention, subscription features, and subscription analytics. The vendor identifier and permission status can be processed even when you have not allowed advertising tracking. A generated customer identifier is not your recording or journal identifier. RevenueCat does not receive your audio, notes, bookmarks, or saved places from this app. Its handling of app-user information is described in its data-processing terms, rather than only its general website privacy policy.

When subscription services are configured, RevenueCat can derive a country from the IP address of the service connection and associate that country with the customer record. RevenueCat states that it discards the IP address after this country lookup. This statement describes that lookup, not the handling of any separately supplied advertising attributes. The derived country is not a saved place or GPS coordinate from your journal. See RevenueCat's customer-country documentation.

5. Apple Ads measurement

When purchase services are configured, the app uses Apple's AdServices attribution through RevenueCat to help determine whether an Apple advertisement led to an installation and subsequent purchases. This may associate Apple campaign information with the app's subscription record. Apple's AdServices attribution can operate without advertising-tracking permission or the IDFA advertising identifier. The available campaign fields depend on Apple's eligibility rules and your permission state; this attribution does not require you to allow optional TikTok measurement.

Apple Ads measurement does not use your microphone recordings, journal text, or saved coordinates. Declining optional tracking does not disable subscriptions or their purchase validation.

6. Optional TikTok advertising measurement

If this integration is enabled for the app and you allow tracking through Apple's permission request, the app can share the following with TikTok to measure and improve advertising for SpiritTrace:

• Device and app identifiers, including advertising and vendor identifiers and an app-instance identifier.
• App installation, launch, return-use, and purchase activity, including event times.
• Purchase information such as product, transaction identifier, quantity, currency, and value.
• Technical information such as app/SDK version, device model, operating-system version, network/IP information, approximate location inferred from network information, and diagnostics about performance, initialization, and errors.

TikTok can associate these events with other information to measure and personalize advertising under the privacy policy applicable to you, which is why this sharing requires your tracking permission. With that permission, RevenueCat can additionally receive the advertising identifier and advertising-attribution attributes, including network information, to associate subscription performance with advertising activity. We do not send your recordings, recording titles, notes, journal entries, or precise saved coordinates to these advertising services. The app does not supply your name, email address, or phone number for advertising matching. TikTok describes network-derived approximate location and advertising-partner information in its U.S. privacy policy.

Advertising measurement does not capture screenshots, upload screen content, or send crash reports. Those SDK features are disabled in this app and cannot be enabled through the advertising provider's remote settings. The app's available-storage checks support recording and saving files; storage-capacity measurements are not sent to advertising services.

You can decline the request or leave optional measurement off. Recording, playback, journal, map, purchasing, and restoring access remain available under the same feature and subscription rules. Allowing tracking does not change your subscription price or trial eligibility.

You can review the current choice in the app's Privacy screen and change tracking permission in iOS Settings. If permission is withdrawn, the app stops this optional measurement. It may keep it suspended even if you later allow tracking, to prevent previously queued events from being sent. Withdrawing permission does not automatically delete information already delivered to a provider; contact us to request deletion where available.

7. Retention, deletion, and your choices

You control the recordings, saved versions, and journal entries in the app. Use their delete controls to remove items from the app. Deleting a journal entry does not delete its linked recording, and deleting a saved edited version does not delete the original. Manage any previously exported files or device backups separately.

Purchase and subscription records may need to be retained to provide access, restore purchases, address refunds or disputes, prevent fraud, and meet applicable recordkeeping obligations. Where its applicable data-processing terms govern the information, RevenueCat's published retention criteria follow the service agreement's term; its end-of-service return or deletion process depends on a customer request and allows for standard backup and archival practices. Advertising and diagnostic retention depends on the information, its purpose, provider settings, and applicable obligations. For example, TikTok's U.S. privacy policy describes retention for service operation, contractual and legal obligations, security and other stated business purposes, and legal claims. The applicable terms and policy can differ by region. We do not promise that uninstalling the app or changing a permission deletes service records already received by a provider.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, or a copy of personal information, or to object to or restrict certain processing. You can withdraw optional tracking permission in iOS Settings without losing access to paid features. For a request concerning information processed for this app, contact us using the details below. We may need enough information to identify the relevant subscription or service record; please do not send private recordings or journal entries unless they are necessary for your request.

To cancel or manage billing, use your Apple Account's subscription settings. A privacy deletion request and subscription cancellation are separate actions.

8. Service providers, security, and transfers

We require third parties receiving personal information through the app to provide protection at least equivalent to this policy and the applicable App Store privacy requirements, and to comply with applicable data-protection law. We enable and use an integration only when these requirements are met.

We use Apple for platform services and payments, RevenueCat for subscriptions when enabled, and TikTok for optional advertising measurement as described above. Providers may process service information in countries other than where you live. Their handling is subject to the applicable service agreements and privacy requirements. RevenueCat's published data-processing terms include processing-instruction limits, security safeguards, and obligations on subprocessors to use protections no less protective than those terms. The app uses iOS app storage protections and encrypted connections for service requests; no storage or transmission method provides an absolute security guarantee.

If you contact us, we use the information you provide to respond and resolve your request. We may retain that correspondence as needed for support or applicable obligations. This policy does not control the privacy practices of an app, website, or recipient that you choose to open or share with.

9. Contact and policy updates

For privacy questions or requests, use our contact form and begin your message with “EVP privacy request.” Please do not include private recordings or journal entries unless they are necessary for your request.

We will update this policy when the app's data practices change and identify the current version by its effective date. Material changes to optional data sharing will be reflected in the app's explanations and permission flow as appropriate.
