Privacy Policy

1. Who We Are

This Privacy Policy explains how 617SW, LLC("617SW," "we," "us," or "our") handles information in connection with TV Remote for Vizio (the "App"), a remote control app for iPhone that works with compatible Vizio SmartCast televisions.

2. Summary

The App does not collect personal information. There are no accounts, no sign-in, no analytics, no advertising, and no tracking. It communicates directly with your television over your own Wi-Fi network, and its settings stay on your device.

3. Information Stored on Your Device

The App saves the following locally so it can remember your setup between launches. None of it is transmitted to us:

• Televisions you have added — names, models, network addresses, and rooms;
• Your favourite apps, remote skin, and interface preferences;
• The pairing token your television issues when you enter its four-digit code, stored in the iOS Keychain;
• Any MAC address you enter so the App can power the television on.

Deleting the App removes all of it.

4. Your Local Network

The App requests Local Network permission because that is the only way it can work: it discovers and controls your television directly over your Wi-Fi network. These requests travel from your iPhone to your television and nowhere else. We operate no server that the App or your television connects to, and we never see your network, its addresses, or what you watch.

5. Microphone and Speech Recognition

The microphone is used only while you hold the Voice button, to turn what you say into a remote command such as "open Netflix" or "volume up."

Where your device supports it, speech is transcribed on the device itself and the audio never leaves your iPhone. On devices or languages where on-device recognition is unavailable, iOS falls back to Apple's speech recognition service and the audio is processed by Apple under Apple's Privacy Policy. In either case we never receive, store, or have access to the audio or the resulting text.

6. Purchases

Optional subscriptions are sold through Apple's In-App Purchase system and managed with RevenueCat, which tracks subscription status on our behalf.

Apple processes payment and we never see your payment details. To determine whether a subscription is active, RevenueCat receives an anonymous subscriber identifier and transaction information from Apple. In Apple's App Privacy terms this is Purchase History: it is not linked to your identity and is not used for tracking or advertising.

7. What the App Does Not Do

• No accounts and no sign-in;
• No analytics or crash-reporting SDKs;
• No advertising identifiers, and no App Tracking Transparency prompt, because the App does not track;
• No access to photos, contacts, or location;
• No viewing history. The App can read which application is currently open on your television so it can show it on screen, but this is never recorded or transmitted;
• No selling or sharing of personal data — we hold none.

8. Children

The App is not directed at children and collects no personal information from anyone, including children under 13.

9. Your Rights

Because we hold no personal information about you, there is nothing for us to retrieve, correct, or delete on request. Everything the App stores resides on your device and is removed when you delete it. If you have purchased a subscription and want the associated RevenueCat records removed, contact us and we will arrange it.

10. Changes and Contact

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date above. Questions can be sent through our contact form.
