Privacy Policy

1. Who We Are

This Privacy Policy explains how 617SW, LLC("617SW," "we," "us," or "our") handles information in connection with Remote for LG (the "App"), a remote control app for iPhone and Android phones that works with compatible LG smart televisions.

2. Summary

The App does not collect personal information. There are no accounts, no sign-in, no analytics, no advertising, and no tracking. It communicates directly with your television over your own Wi-Fi network, and its settings remain on your device.

3. Information Stored on Your Device

The App may save television connection details, pairing information, room names, favourites, remote appearance, and interface preferences locally so it can remember your setup. None of this television information is transmitted to 617SW or RevenueCat. Deleting the App removes its locally stored data, subject to normal device backup and secure-storage behaviour.

4. Your Local Network

The App requests the local-network or nearby-device access required by your operating system to discover and control compatible televisions on your Wi-Fi network. On older Android versions, the operating system groups Wi-Fi discovery with location permission; the App does not use that permission to determine or store your physical location. Remote-control requests travel directly between your phone and television. We operate no remote-control server and do not receive your network addresses, television activity, or viewing history.

5. Microphone and Speech Recognition

The microphone is used only when you activate a voice feature. The App asks the speech recognition service supplied by your device to turn speech into a command. Depending on your device, language, and settings, recognition may occur on the device or through Apple's or Google's services under their respective privacy policies: Apple Privacy Policy and Google Privacy Policy. 617SW and RevenueCat do not receive or store your microphone audio or voice commands.

6. Purchases

LG Pro subscriptions are sold through Apple's In-App Purchase system on iPhone and Google Play Billing on Android. Apple or Google processes payment, free-trial eligibility, refunds, and subscription management. We never receive your payment-card or bank-account details.

The Android App uses RevenueCat as a purchase-management service. RevenueCat processes an anonymous app-user identifier, product and subscription status, purchase and transaction metadata, and limited device, app, network, and diagnostic information needed to validate purchases, prevent fraud, restore access, and operate the service. This information is not used for advertising or cross-app tracking. See the RevenueCat Privacy Policy.

7. What the App Does Not Do

• No accounts and no sign-in;
• No advertising analytics or third-party crash-reporting SDKs;
• No advertising or advertising identifiers;
• No cross-app or cross-site tracking;
• No access to photos or contacts, and no use of precise location;
• No selling of personal data.

8. Children

The App is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

9. Your Rights

Television and preference data remains on your device and can be removed by deleting the App or clearing its storage. Subscriptions are managed through your Apple ID or Google Play account settings. To ask a privacy question or request deletion of data associated with the App's anonymous RevenueCat identifier, follow our data-deletion instructions.

10. Changes and Contact

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date above. Questions can be sent through our contact form.
