Support
For help, contact 617SW support or email hello@617sw.com. Include your TV model, phone or tablet model, operating-system version, app version, and a short description of the problem. Do not send passwords or pairing credentials.
Getting started
- Turn your TV or streaming player on and connect it to your local network.
- Connect your phone or tablet to the same network.
- Open Universal TV Remote, allow Local Network access, and choose your device.
- Follow the pairing instructions. Depending on the device, approve an on-screen request or enter the code displayed on the TV.
Cannot find your TV?
- Check that both devices are on the same network. Guest networks and router client isolation can prevent discovery.
- Check the app’s Local Network permission in system Settings.
- Confirm that your TV is switched on and its network remote-control setting is enabled, if it has one.
- If discovery fails, use manual IP entry where the app offers it. Read the current address in your TV’s network settings.
- Restart the app and TV, then try discovery again.
Power, volume, and other controls
Controls vary by TV model, software, and connected equipment. Power-on may require network standby, Quick Start, or an equivalent TV setting. Streaming players may depend on the TV’s HDMI control settings for power and volume. A subscription does not add capabilities that your hardware does not support.
Keyboard, voice, and title search
Open a supported text field on your TV before typing. Some streaming apps accept only on-screen keyboard navigation. Voice commands require microphone and speech-recognition permission.
Global movie/show search and direct title launching are supported only on a limited subset of paired devices. They are not universal search features for every TV. Other devices can use keyboard entry in supported on-screen search fields. Catalog availability varies by service and region; streaming subscriptions are separate.
Choose a theme
Open the theme picker from the remote header to choose a different design. Theme selection changes the look of the remote; device capabilities still determine which controls work.
Subscriptions and restoring access
Open the Pro crown to view available plans. To recover an existing purchase, use the restore or manage-purchases action while signed into the same store account that purchased it.
Manage or cancel a subscription in system Settings under your account’s Subscriptions section. Uninstalling the app does not cancel a subscription. For store-billed refunds, visit Report a Problem.
